Cadillac Liquoreux – Cuvée oak barrel – 2022 – 75cl – Garbes
This sweet white wine, Cadillac Liquoreux is an historic vintage of the vineyard.
Château de Garbes farms 64 hectares of vines. But 20 of them are cultivated with the grape variety Sémillon to produce the sweet wine in AOC Cadillac.
The vines are selected for their age (60 years old) and their sun exposition with a clay-gravel soil to produce small quantities of grapes. The harvest begins in October. The morning fogs from the Garonne river encourage the development of Botrytis Cinerea. Thanks to the autumn sun, the sugar is concentrated in the berries. When the maturity is optimal and the concentration in sugar is enough, the manual picking with successive selections begins. This elixir is aged in oak barrels giving its complexity and its impeccable aromatic richness thanks to a harmonious maturation. Regular in its vintages, it ranks regularly in the quotations of the Guide Hachette. The aging creates this smooth, clear and brilliant wine.
