Birth of a wine
Our traditional red Côtes de Bordeaux vintage from Château de Garbes is made from a blend of three Bordeaux grape varieties: Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon. In order to respect the specific characteristics of each plot, the harvest date is carefully chosen and can be staggered according to the evolution of the maturity of the berries. Traditional maceration and fermentation follow. This vintage is historic for the David family and always appreciated. It is faithful to the expression of our terroir and reveals elegant fruity notes.
Tasting note
The traditional vintage stands out from the range by its tannic and fruity authenticity, allowing the production of a silky and easy-drinking red wine. Of a beautiful purple color with garnet reflections, its nose will pleasantly seduce you with a round and slightly spicy finish on the palate.

Our red wines from Château de Garbes are made from a blend of three Bordeaux grape varieties: Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon. This Côtes de Bordeaux Red oak barrel vintage differs from the traditional vintage by its aging in barrels after vinification. Our “Selection” vintage from Château de Garbes is harvested from old vines carefully chosen according to the maturity of the berries. It is aged in 100% French oak barrels for 12 months. The wine is racked only once and gentle filtration is carried out before bottling. The label of this vintage is inspired by that which adorned the first wine bottled at Domaine de Garbes: a tribute to our ancestors embodying the know-how of several generations of winegrowers..
Testing note
Its brilliant garnet color reveals a tannic and balanced wine that will be appreciated between 5 and 12 years of age. Its powerful bouquet evokes wild and ripe red fruits. Aging in French oak barrels allows the wine to express natural toasted, spicy and vanilla notes, offering silky tannins with a pleasant roundness on the finish.

Our Ancestrale cuvée comes from plots with a majority of Merlot and a little Cabernet Franc on clay-gravelly soils. We work the soil and control grass cover by mechanical plowing. We protect the foliage and future grapes with only Bordeaux mixture, like the work of our ancestors, hence its name: Ancestrale. Its purple color will seduce you and confirm a generous and fruity palate.
Tasting notes
With 80% majority Merlot, Ancestrale seduces with its elegant and dense color combined with violet notes, comforting the fleshy side of Merlot. On the palate, this wine will surprise with its silky tannins divinely accompanied by notes of ripe fruit and blackcurrant leaving a rich and melted aromatic palette on the finish.
We advise you to decant the wine 2/3 hours in advance so that the gentle aeration gives the vintage the chance to express itself in all its splendor!

This AOC Bordeaux rosé wine from Château de Garbes is made from red grapes, 50% Cabernet Franc and 50% Cabernet Sauvignon harvested at early maturity. As with the whites, this wine comes from pressing. During the fermentation of the must, the temperature is rigorously monitored in order to preserve all the aromas. It is carried out in a thermoregulated vat then after decanting, the wine is stirred on fine lees during its aging to obtain a fruity and rounded aromatic finesse.

All these precautions and know-how give our dry White Bordeaux a clear color with a fresh nose with scents of white flowers and citrus fruits. With a clear and luminous color, this wine, round in the mouth and slightly pearly, will surprise you with its freshness and finesse enhanced by citrus notes.

Château de Garbes farms 62 ha of vines including 20 ha of Sémillon grape variety to produce its sweet white wines in AOC Cadillac. This sweet wine comes from late manual harvests through successive sorting.
The vines specially selected for their age and their terroir are facing south on a clay-gravelly terroir in order to produce grapes in small quantities. From October onwards, the morning fogs generated by the presence of the Garonne favor the development of Botrytis Cinerea and, thanks to the autumn sun, the sugar concentrates in the berries.
Tasting note
A warm yellow color and a dazzling shine give this sweet wine a celestial character. Its fresh nose is pleasantly enhanced with delicately floral fruity notes. Its refreshing mouth gives way to a surprising sweetness enhanced with aromas of candied fruits, elegant and airy.
Tasting temperature: 6-8°C

The Sémillon vines specially selected for their maturity (over 60 years old) face south on a clay-gravelly terroir. This wine comes, like its namesake, from late manual harvests carried out by successive sortings following the years.
After its fermentation, it continues its aging in barrels for 12 months. From this aging, a very distinct vintage is born with aromas of dried apricots and honey.
Tasting note
This wine has a shimmering color with intense golden reflections. The nose is powerful, fruity and full of slightly woody aromas. You will appreciate a complex, fresh and pleasantly creamy palate with honeyed notes of candied fruits, peaches and apricots.
Tasting temperature: 6-8°C
Food and wine pairings: as an aperitif, with foie gras, character cheeses or white meats
Our sweet white wine with the Cadillac Cuvée Grains Nobles appellation is harvested manually, at the end of the season, from old vines over 70 years old and from a selection of over-ripe grains. This AOC Cadillac Grains Nobles sweet white wine is only produced in years when the best climatic conditions are met, favoring the development of Botrytis cinerea and noble rot. This fungus feeds on the water contained in the grape berry, thus concentrating the flower aromas and sugar.
It differs from “its little brothers” by fermentation and vinification only in oak barrels for two years.
Tasting notes
This nectar is characterized by a warm and luminous color with golden reflections… The nose is astonishing with its aromatic richness and the intensity of its scents of honey and caramel. The first attack on the palate is fresh. The palate is then surprised by the power of this sweet wine with notes of candied fruit. The structure is well balanced and the finish deliciously persistent.

Food and wine pairings: as an aperitif, with foie gras or Roquefort or blue Basque cheeses
Château de Garbes produces an AOC Crémant de Bordeaux brut white from the Sémillon and Cabernet Franc grape varieties, on a clay-loamy terroir. It is harvested manually and in shelves at the end of August and beginning of September, from late-ripening vines. This is a traditional method: After harvest, the grapes are pressed then vinified into so-called “base” wine. The champagne is then carried out in bottles thanks to a second fermentation, thus giving a sparkling wine with fine natural bubbles. These bottles will be stored in limestone cellars in Haux (33), prized for their constant temperature for a minimum of 11 months. They are then disgorged before being prepared for sale.
Tasting note
You will appreciate its elegant, shiny and slightly golden color, subtly enhanced with a fine and light effervescence. Its fresh nose offers aromas rich in fruit and delicately floral notes. The almond and brioche flavors give it fullness and extra complexity. Frank on the palate, this sparkling wine is quickly appreciated by its freshness and liveliness.
Tasting temperature: serving temperature between 4 to 8°C.
Food and wine pairings: As an aperitif at your receptions, pure or in cocktails, shellfish and fish meals then with desserts.
This wine is made from a still rosé wine from the Bordeaux region from an early harvest of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. The still wine obtained after the first alcoholic fermentation is bottled with an addition of yeast in order to cause a second fermentation which will generate effervescence. As with Crémant Blanc, the bottles are stored for a minimum of 9 months in limestone galleries.
This is a traditional sparkling rosé method. After harvest, the grapes are pressed then vinified into still rosé wine. The champagne is then carried out in bottles thanks to a second fermentation, thus giving a sparkling wine with fine bubbles. It will perfectly accompany your cocktails and festive aperitifs. This round and fruity wine, with its aromas of red fruits, is the “favorite” of women.
Tasting note
Its intense color and subtle shine make this wine with its fine and light bubbles a gem that you will generously appreciate. You will note a fine and refined nose, imbued with fruity and flowery aromas with delicate notes of red fruits. On the palate, Perle de Garbes reveals itself to be sweet and fruity, invigorated by an exquisite effervescence.
Tasting temperature: Serve chilled between 4 and 8°C
